@freedomseedacres baby goats are soooo clingy to their mamas... can you tell which ones are the bottle babies? 🤣 #goat #goats #homestead #farmlife #farm ♬ original sound - Freedom Seed Acres
@freedomseedacres chickens like to dust bathe... helps keep them clean. Despite having a few "dedicated areas" to do so, chickens be chickens and they just dig themselves personal tubs wherever they please. 😅🙄🙄 watch your step! #chickens #chicken #spring #homestead #farm #farmlife #hobbyfarm #dust #VoiceEffects ♬ original sound - Freedom Seed Acres
@freedomseedacres In the fall, we harvested several pumpkins. We gave a few away, fed some to our farm animals, ate some... but the best use, by far, is dried and ground into a fine powder. The powder is used to make pumpkin purée (1 tbsp pumpkin to 4 tbsp water ratio), but it's also mixed with cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice and black pepper to make our own pumpkin spice blend used in baking or drinks. The powder can thicken soups/stews... or flavor bland foods like oatmeal. Nutrient dense, pumpkins are rich in alpha& beta-carotene, anti-oxidants which your body turns into Vitamin A, and beta-cryptoxanthin, which can help neutralize free radicals to stop the cell damage... and high in zinc and potassium, supporting optimal muscle function - it can even help regulate the bowels. Don't underestimate this immune system booster... and ignore the claims that enjoying pumpkin spice anything makes you a basic batch! 😅 #pumpkinseason #pumpkin #farmlife #farm #hobbyfarm #homestead #diy ♬ Spice, Spice, Baby - Scott Mead
@freedomseedacres we let our birds free range... but we also give them feed, grain, and a mix of seeds and nuts. they get thistle seed, sunflower seeds, peanuts, millet, wheat, and oats in this mix - they otherwise also get a little cracked corn and scratch feed sprinkled on hay so they dig for it and turn it over. wr often get comments that our eggs are so rich and almost creamy... this is the good stuff. #eggs #egg #chicken #duck #homestead #hobbyfarm #farm #farmlife ♬ original sound - Freedom Seed Acres
